Paediatrics
Clinical
urodynamic neurogenic bladder children
Urologists, paediatrics, nurses, technicians, and anorectal surgeons.

The prevalence of neurogenic bladder (NB) in children is high and the quality of life is poor especially in cases with complications. The urodynamic evaluation not only can accurately reflect the type and severity of NB and urethral dysfunction but is helpful in designing right treatment protocol, predict the risk of upper urinary tract damage and evaluate the post-treatment efficacy. This workshop will introduce the characteristic of pediatric urodynamic study (UDS) and how to perform a good UDS and its application in diagnosis and treatment in children with NB.

Learning Objectives

  • 1. To introduce how to perform the paediatric urodynamic study (UDS) and analyse the result, as well as the indication for the study, especially in the children with NB. 2. To introduce the non-surgical treatment of NB including CIC, electrical stimulation and pharmaceutical therapy, and the application of UDS in guiding these procedure. 3. To introduce the surgical procedures in treatment of NB and the application of UDS in guiding these procedures.
