Dr. McAchran is an Associate Professor with joint appointments in the Departments of Urology and Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison (UW). She was the first female faculty member in the Department of Urology. Her specialty focus is on female urology and voiding dysfunction and she is dual board certified in Urology and Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery.
She joined the University of Wisconsin faculty in 2008 and is proud to have launched the Women's Pelvic Wellness program in 2014. She serves as the Medical Director of this multi-disciplinary program that combines the expertise of specialists with a common focus on the diagnosis and treatment of women with pelvic floor disorders.
While at the University of Wisconsin, she has have served on several committees including the UW Medical Board and the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation Council of Faculty and Clinical Promotions Committee. To hone her leadership skills she completed a course on Leadership Development for Physicians in Academic Health Centers through the Harvard School of Public Health in 2014. She has also completed the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation two year Physician Leadership and Development Course. Honors and awards include the Wear Resident Teaching Award in 2015 and the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation Shining Star Award.
