Dr. Marie-Pierre Cyr obtained her Master’s degree in physiotherapy from the Université de Sherbrooke (Canada) in 2015 along with certification for pelvic health practice from the Université de Montréal (Canada) in 2019. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at The University of Queensland (Australia) and she has received a fellowship from the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé. She completed her MSc and PhD degrees focusing on chronic pelvic pain in gynecological cancer survivors. She conducted multidisciplinary research to better understand and treat dyspareunia through multimodal pelvic floor physiotherapy. Her involvement in research led to published peer-reviewed articles and presentations at national/international conferences, from which she has been invited several times as a guest speaker. Her research and clinical interests include the pathophysiology and the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions (chronic pelvic pain, incontinence, and sexual dysfunction) and methods to assess the pelvic floor (algometry, dynamometry, and ultrasonography), psychosexual, and social outcomes. She is an appointed member of the ICS Physiotherapy Committee.
