The ICS Board of Trustees is pleased to confirm that we have a new consensus document entitled 'Implications of established bowel disease or prior bowel symptoms on urinary tract reconstruction – a decision making tool.'
A working group is being convened to generate a consensus statement on the implications of established bowel disease on urinary tract reconstruction. There are no current guidelines from an expert panel on the implications of bowel dysfunction for lower urinary tract reconstructive surgery.
We will be working with gastroenterologists and colorectal surgeons, aiming to generate a consensus statement addressing these questions to help tailor management appropriately in people with bowel problems being considered for urinary tract reconstruction using gut segments. The consensus methodology will be based on nominal group technique to define the issues, and Delphi method to develop consensus.
ICS is interested in receiving applications from members with expertise in urology (with extensive experience of reconstructive surgery), oncological urologists, colorectal and gastroenterology.
