1st April is also the deadline for the two positions on the board of trustees that are open for nomination: General Secretary Elect, and Honorary Treasurer. We must also receive both of your nominations from 2 ICS members before the deadline.
General Secretary Elect is a position held for one year. Once that year is up the General Secretary Elect is then automatically appointed General Secretary of the ICS for two further years. The GS provides effective leadership and management to the Board of Trustees, enabling it to fulfill its responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, and ensuring that appropriate decisions are correctly made (including developing the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines).
The Honorary Treasurer oversees the financial matters of the charity in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing documentation and legal requirements and reports to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals.
