Watch the latest video from ICS on the launch of the Incontinence 6th Edition Book. Hear from book editors, Adrian Wagg, Linda Cardozo and Paul Abrams on how the book was created and why you should purchase this book today.

The book comes in the form of 2 volumes with 23 chapters covering a range of incontinence related content. It is a great resource for anyone wanting to know about the science of incontinence or as a key text to refer to when you have clinical issues or are planning future research. As highlighted by Adrian Wagg, this is the ‘only guideline that deals extensively with management of urinary and faecal incontinence in frail older people. Additionally geriatricians will find it useful as it has a digest of all major evidence for adults including robust community dwelling older people.’

Readers will enjoy the quality of not only the content but the presentation of the volumes. As highlighted by Linda Cardozo ‘the paper is of good quality and the images are sharp and clear. The book has an overall modern and fresh look to it.

You will also receive an electronic version of the book that you can save to your laptop or desktop. So you can read or refer to this information wherever and whenever you need it.

You can purchase the book on the ICS website:

Members: click here to order

Non-member: click here to download the order form

ICS members receive a substantial discount for the book - another fantastic benefit of being an ICS member.

The 7th ICI consultation will hopefully take place in Las Vegas at ICS 2020. We hope to see you there!

Additional Information

The book was created in partnership with the International Continence on Urological Diseases (ICUD). The ICUD is an organisation of major urological and gynaecological associations worldwide. Reviews take place every 4 years to allow for new research to update each chapter e.g. drugs for detrusor OAB, botulin toxin for OAB etc. This means that each chapter includes the latest research for each condition and discipline.

Over 200 people contributed to the book at the ICS 2016 meeting in Tokyo. Authors were involved in literature reviews, evidence gathering and grading as well making recommendations on the management of all aspects of LUT symptoms, incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction. A peer review of these draft documents took place with delegates at the ICS 2016 meeting and chapters were updated accordingly.
