Donna Bliss, PhD, RN, FGSA, FAAN, is a Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in Minneapolis, MN. She holds a Professorship in Nursing Research. She teaches in the BSN, MN, DNP, and PhD programs. Dr. Blissis a member of the ICS Standardization Steering Committee and had served as the Chair of the ICS Nursing Committee for 2 terms. Dr. Bliss’ research focuses on assessing, preventing, and managing incontinence and incontinence associated skin damage. She has 25 years of research experience funded by federal, foundation, and corporate grants and more than 100 publications on these topics. Dr. Bliss is the editor of Management of Fecal Incontinence for the Advanced Practice Nurse, a book written with an international group of nurse and physician contributors, published by Springer, FR. Dr. Bliss has presented at approximately 100 international and national conferences. She is on the editorial board of Continence, International Urogynecology Journal and Applied Nursing Research. She served as an editor of the Incontinence Group of the Cochrane Systematic Reviews, and reviews for numerous professional journal. She is on the Board and an ambassador of the Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, a Fellow of the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society, and a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America.
